Timeline

The Timeline workspace runs scenes as clips over the length of a show and animates their parameters with keyframes.

TODO (Jack): screenshot of the Timeline workspace with the parts labelled.

Layers and Clips

TODO (Jack): adding layers, dragging scenes from the bin to make clips, moving and trimming clips, fade in and out, selecting and moving several clips. New clips are 30 s long (Settings > General > Timeline).

Cue Bin

TODO (Jack): what the bin holds, resizing and scrolling it.

Automation

TODO (Jack): adding a parameter lane to a clip, adding and moving keyframes, curve bend.

Transport

TODO (Jack): play, stop, locate, loop in and out. Show length (new shows are 30 minutes).

Scrubbing

While you drag the playhead, only keyframed parameters follow it. When you let go, DISPATCH works out what should be running at that time and changes only what's different.

Timecode

The cog in the transport bar opens the timecode panel.

TODO (Jack): sources (internal, LTC, CHOP), fps, start time, freewheel. The LTC audio device and channel are saved per machine; the rest is saved with the show.
