Getting Started

Opening DISPATCH

TODO (Jack): launching the .toe, what appears first (splash, start menu if there is one), and the first-run state.

Your First Show

TODO (Jack): a short walkthrough: add a scene to the grid, put it in an output group, send the group to a screen, press the tile to Go. Screenshots at each step.

Shows & Saving

A show is saved as a single file that holds your pages, scenes, groups, outputs and timeline.

Warning

Never save the .TOE file. Use File > Save instead.

TODO (Jack): confirm the File menu items and the warning above.

Saving and Opening Shows

TODO (Jack): File > New / Open / Save / Save As, and the Projects folder (Settings > General).

Autosave

TODO (Jack): Settings > General > Autosave, off by default, every 15 minutes when on. Where autosaves go.

What Travels with the Show

Some settings belong to the show and some to the machine DISPATCH runs on:

Saved with the show Saved on this machine
Timeline settings (new clip length, show length) Interface colours, language, window
Timecode source, fps, start time Performance (cook rate, VSync, preload)
Output groups and outputs Autosave, projects folder
LTC audio device and channel

TODO (Jack): check this table against Settings before publishing.
